A decade after teaming up in the Exploding Hearts, Terry Six and King Louie Bankston are back together with a brand new single. Picking up where their previous projects (Six's Nice Boys and King Louie's Loose Diamonds and Missing Monuments) left off, Terry & Louie are still combining vintage power pop hooks with an updated attitude and urgency.
After a self imposed exile from music and an exodus from Portland, Terry found himself resettled in Oakland, California ready to start a new chapter with an old friend. After months of phone calls planting the seeds of collaboration, Louie flew out west from New Orleans and the pair went to work. Now the dust has settled and the fruits of their collaboration is a project that incorporates the last remaining links to an unforgettable and timeless band- and it does not disappoint.
Recorded at the Tuff Shed Bunker in Oakland by Six and featuring session drummer extraordinaire Garett Goddard (Cuts, King Tuff, Personal & the Pizzas, Girls), "(I'm) Lookin' For a Heart" b/w "She Loves Him" is the first of two singles the duo have lined up to launch Six's record label, Tuff Break Records.
Taking cues from 70's UK pub-rockers ala Nick Lowe and Eddie & the Hot Rods "(I'm) Lookin' For a Heart" is filled with catchy hooks and charming lyrics, this single is a must have for any record collector or any fan of catchy first wave punk and traditional power pop.
The B-Side "She Loves Him" is truly a perfect Power Pop ballad. Think Phil Seymour and The Ramones joining forces to give you a heart melting classic.

lyrics
I gotta brain I'm really smart
I got feet too fast to beat
I feel no despair- and I'm looking for a heart
I learned to love she was twice my size
Came up for air and I begged for life
And I just don't care- and I'm looking for a heart
I'm always looking over my shoulders
I'm running backwards down the street
I'm kicking everything over and over and over just for kicks
I save myself, but not this world
I spent my money, on Daddy's girl
And I'm down, and I'm looking for a heart
When I retire to the Killing Fields
Eat what I kill, to make a meal
And I just don't feel
So I'm looking for a heart
I gotta heart so hard to beat
It's bleeding out on a one way street
I see you lying there, it's where I should be

Ridiculously infectious, instant urge to dance, rock. You're going to listen to Fan The Flames anyway, so make sure to listen to Travelin On too. John Evelyn
Don't believe the name of their latest album; jangle-pop hooks and stacked grunge guitars are two of the Bay Area band's greatest gifts. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 16, 2023

Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist
